Privacy notice
This notice covers the free Black Friday ads from Ballpoint. Ballpoint is a trading name of Hour Five Ltd. We're the data controller.
What we collect
- Your store address, which you type in.
- Your work email, if you ask for the full set of ads.
- What you tell us about your sale: your offer, your taglines, and any dates, discount code or lead product you add.
- Your answer to the question about the Thursday email.
- Any photos or videos you upload.
- Your internet address, kept in a scrambled form to stop abuse, and for no other purpose.
We don't ask for payment details. The ads cost nothing.
Why we use it
- To make your ads and show them to you. We use your store address, the text and images on the public pages of your store, any photos or videos you upload, and what you tell us about your sale.
- To send you a sign-in link, and to give the ads to one person at your company. We use your work email.
- To send the Thursday email, only if you said yes. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- To stop misuse of the site.
Our legal reasons are your request for the ads, your consent for the Thursday email, and our interest in keeping the site safe.
Who else sees it
Companies that run parts of the site for us: our website host, our database and sign-in provider, our file storage, our email sender and Google Fonts (which supplies the fonts). To make the ads, text from your store and any photos or videos you upload are sent to Google (Gemini) and OpenAI. We don't sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your ads, your uploads and your sign-up data for 90 days after the offer closes, then delete them. Ask us sooner and we'll delete them sooner.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or to stop us using it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Write to hello@weareballpoint.com.
